i decided to sign up after i read you first opinion piece re empathy. Excellent piece. Although I agree with the thrust: black lives are holy -- one need not support a specific movement (black lives matter) to support the cause...

fyi I also enjoyed the hogwart's haggadah when it first came out (as did my rabbi's family for whom i bought a second copy) :)

Hello Rabbi. That is an interesting and sensitive article. You are probably correct about many people's BLM feelings. However, the anger and hostility displayed by some seems to me to be more about themselves being entitled to special treatment rather than mourning for a person or a past. In other words, the behavior and the motivation of the protesters varies. On a separate note, I am interested in your "seeing the world through Jewish eyes" perspective. It happens that I wrote a novel that is a vehicle for teaching Judaism. It is a novel with an 8 page glossary. Or a textbook about Judaism with a plot. I would love to send you a copy. Please tell me where to send it. It is nice meeting you. Refuah shelayma. Pessie Stein (You can see the book on Amazon: Jews for Joy.)
